Rotary Club of Laredo Next Generation
About Our Club
Laredo Next Generation Rotary Club is one of five Rotary International Clubs in Laredo. We were charted in May 2008 with 42 Members, specifically with the interest of bringing young business and community leaders together to focus on Service.
Collectively, we have built 4 playgrounds in the Laredo community, including:
- Laredo Sacred Heart Children's Home 2009-2010
- Playground at the Laredo Next Generation Pavilion at North Central Park 2010-2011
- Outdoor Gym at the Laredo Next Generation Pavilion at North Central Park 2012 -2013
- Dovalina Elementary School Playground 2013-2014
And in 2014-2015, the Laredo Next Generation Rotary Club partnered with the City of Laredo and El Metro for our "Techito Project" where we built 15 buses stops around the City that include shade for the much extremely hot Laredo sun.
Our other Service Projects have included:
- Casa Hogar Elim Nuevo Laredo
- the Laredo Food Bank
- Adopt a Family Christmas Service Project in El Cenizo
- Bethany House
- Casa Misericordia Baby Drives
- "No Piesitos Left Behind" - Shoe Drives for area elementary school students in need
- School Supply Drives
- RotaStrong - Raising Awareness for Cancer in Laredo
RotaRun is one of our "Signature Events" in that it is both a Service Project to our Laredo community, by helping to "Fight Disease" by encouraging healthy living in our area, it is also a one of our major fundraisers that we use to leverage our other Service Projects throughout the year.
Additionally through the Clemen Bell Scholarship, the Laredo Next Generation Rotary Club provides scholarships to not only graduating high school seniors, but also to Masters and PhD students.
Rotary International is 1.2 million neighbors, friends, and community leaders in more than 200 countries and geographical areas who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world.
Our differing occupations, cultures, and countries give us a unique perspective. Our shared passion for service helps us accomplish the remarkable. And, we are always looking for new members.
